NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AND PHILANTHROPY CENTRE (NVPC)
The NVPC is a government-associated body that encourages public volunteerism and giving back to society. The centre runs a series of public outreach programmes, including a short films festival that showcases the stories of the people that the volunteers help.
The Challenge
We had to create a design mock up in order to be considered for this pitch, which we initially turned down. However, the client seemed to like our initial moodboard and overall concept submission, and kept negotiating with us on the submission of our pitch.
Decadence Design does not take part in projects that require design work to be done before an official engagement. We believe that designers should be paid for their time and expertise, and good designs should be paid for. Basically, we do not believe in free pitches and we urge all designers and design agencies to do the same. Good designs take deep thought, time, software skills that are honed over year and flawless co-ordination to execute and professional time should be paid for.
Our Solution
We compromised on creating a more detailed moodboard for the film event, which showcased how we would present the various film directors, and the disparate stories and weave them into one, which won us the pitch.
The Result
A meaningful final design based on the detailed client brief after winning the project, and one that could be used across the many branding collaterals on digital and print, to promote the event.
